Park Trek Walking Holidays is a well established tour company which has been delivering walking holidays around Australia for the past 15 years.   Park Trek has delivered hundreds of tours and gained a solid reputation for providing guests with spectacular scenery, thoughtfully planned itineraries, plenty of time to absorb and enjoy the natural world and a great social environment for like-minded travellers. We use modern, clean and comfortable mini-coaches and have excellent meals and snacks.



We are seeking an experienced and mature casual guide to coordinate and host a range of walking tours in Tasmania. Work would commence in spring 2017 and continue until May 2018.


Guides MUST be based in Tasmania, preferably Launceston, for the duration of the season and have experience as a tour guide.Mature applicants encouraged to apply.


Tour destinations include:

  • Bay of Fires

  • Tarkine

  • Freycinet and Wineglass Bay

  • Three Capes and Tasman Peninsula

  • South West Wilderness

  • Cradle Mountain


Knowledge of walking trails in some, if not all of these areas is essential. Applicants should have an interest in natural history, flora and fauna and indigenous history.


Essential requirements:

  • Knowledge of walking trails in tour destinations

  • Well organised and well presented

  • Hold a current first aid certificate

  • Hold a current driver's licence (Light or heavy vehicle licence an advantage)

  • Have or be willing to obtain PPV accreditation

  • Have previous experience as a tour guide, preferably a walking tour guide

  • Experience catering for group travel (between 6 and 10 guests) including meal preparation

  • Strong communication skills

  • Ability to work well with others guides

  • Be flexible and open to change

  • Resident in with the right to work in Australia

We will conduct training on our existing departures with the successful applicants in April/ May 2017 to ensure applicants are ready for the spring season.
