THE ROLE

We are looking for a passionate, approachable dietician to join our team. He/She will receive in-house referrals under the EPC/TCA medicare funded arrangements and there is scope for private patients as well. Our current dietician is taking on a new full time role elsewhere and we are looking to replace her busy 8 hours per week. This would be 1 full day on either Monday, Tuesday or Friday.

 

The successful applicant will be responsible to advise patients on how to develop healthier lifestyles, individualised diet planning for weight management and specific dietary advice in relation to chronic diseases such as diabetes, hyperlipidaemia, hypertension, irritable bowel disease (FODMAP'S), osteoporosis and more.

Quinns Mindarie Super Clinic is a vibrant, large medical centre established in 1994, with a close knit team that is committed to offering excellence in medical care. We have a strong focus on health promotion and chronic disease management and require a part time dietician to be involved in these programs.

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

Essential Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in human nutrition and eligible for membership or associate membership of the Dietician's Association of Australia.

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team

  • Excellent communicator with a great ability to establish rapport with patients

  • Ability to work 8 hours per week

  • Medicare registered

  • Proactive life-long learner, keeping up to date with current guidelines as they relate to health nutrition

  • Resident in with the right to work in Australia

 

Skills and experience

  • At least three years practical experience (not including placement hours)

  • Knowledge of specific diets that relate to chronic disease management

  • Ability to individualise dietary plans for patients with a variety of health conditions

  • Writing reports

  • Strong computer literacy

  • Remuneration is a negotiated standardised percentage of billings, with full administrative support.
